Dua Lipa is an English artist and singer. She was born on the 22nd of August 1995 in London United Kingdom. Dua Lipa signed to Warner Bros Records in 2014 after she was a model. She dropped her debut album, self-titled in the year 2017. The album peaked at No. 3 in the U.K. Charts. There were eight songs released such as Be the One I.D.G.A.F., and New Rules. In the United States it peaked as sixth in the charts. Lipa's album, which has now been recognized as Platinum in several nations around the globe, won her the two Brit Awards (in the year of 2018) for British female single artist as well as British Breakthrough artist. Dua Lipa, who was born to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa A Rexha Lipa and Dukagjin Dukagjin in London, was born on August 22, 1995. She is of Bosnian heritage through the maternal grandparents of her. There is also a trace of Lipa's ancestry through Peja in Kosovo. Her grandparents were historians as well. They have a brother Gjin Lipa and a sister Rina. Lipa was influenced musically by her father who was the lead singer and guitarist of Oda, the Kosovan rock group Oda. At home her father continued to play music including his original compositions as well as songs from David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Sting The Police and Stereophonics. Lipa was only five when she began singing. The Sylvia Young Theater School was where she first began singing at the age of nine. Lipa has covered If I Ain't Got You as well as Beautiful from Christina Aguilera and posted it on YouTube. Lipa signed her first record agreement in 2014 with Warner Bros. Records.
