
Lee was born Thomas Lee Bass October 3, 1962 in Athens to David Lee Thomas Bass, an American U.S. Army sergeant and Vassiliki Papadimitriou as who was a contestant in the 1957 Miss Greece beauty pageant (Greek: Basilike Papademetriou). He is the younger brother of Athena who is drummer. Lee was only two years old when his father relocated his family to California. He also got his first drumsticks when he turned four and his first real drum set when he turned 16. Lee dropped out from high school in order to pursue music as a career which began with Suite 19, a L.A.-based club band. In his teen years was listening to Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Cheap Trick, Kiss, AC/DC and Sweet. John Bonham and Tommy Aldridge were his main drumming influence.
